 I was so nervous for my first interview about the book series, but everyone at Talk of Alabama was so wonderful and made me feel very comfortable.  Host Stoney Sharp was amazing and put me right at ease.  I had a really fun time on the show.  I hope to go back when the second book debuts in September.

The Blanchards have lived in Daihmler well before the town was even named.  For hundreds of years this 100 acre patch of Alabama countryside has been home to a powerful bloodline of witches.  Blanchard House and the meadows, woods, and stream surrounding it are a haven to the family.  Here they can escape the daily rigors of the world and find peace and solitude together.   Legally owned solely now by Olympia Blanchard after the death of her father in the 1960's, she views Blanchard land to belong to anyone with even a drop of Blanchard blood in their veins.  This is the homestead of them all and all family is always welcome here.

Who is My Favorite Character in the Blanchard Series?

I've been asked a few time who my favorite character is in the world of the Blanchards.  That is too difficult an answer to give for several reasons.  I could say that since I created everyone, its hard to choose a favorite.  But that isn't actually true.  Primarily, its difficult to pick because each book has multiple storylines different from its preceding book.  Some characters are more in the foreground in certain volumes and not in others.  And, (spoiler alert) not everyone stays alive through the course of the series.  For this reason, and since right now only the first book is on the shelves, I will speak only of Volume One  THE BLANCHARD WITCHES OF DAIHMLER COUNTY.
