In Book One of THE BLANCHARDS WITCHES...Who is Yasmine Sinclair?





Yasmine Sinclair is not a Blanchard by blood.  When she was a very little girl, her parents and brother were killed in a car crash, leaving her orphaned.  She went to live with her paternal grandfather Randolph Sinclair and his new wife Olympia Blanchard.  She is often lovingly referred to in the family as Yaz or Yazzy.


Despite experiencing deep tragedy so early in life, Yasmine has had an idyllic childhood.  Even after her grandfather died a few years after she came to live at Blanchard House, Yasmine never felt alone.  Olympia Blanchard loved her from the start just as if she were her own biological granddaughter.  In truth, Yasmine is often suspected to be Olympia's favorite.  Yasmine grew up with a house full of cousins making her childhood full of playmates and her adulthood full of built in best friends.


Though she never thinks about it, Yasmine Sinclair is extremely wealthy.  With the death of her business magnet grandfather, Yasmine inherited millions, as well as controlling stock of Sinclair Industries.  But no one would ever know to meet her.  She works a simple job as assistant to the Blanchard Financial Manager, Howard Caldwell.  She lives a simple life at Blanchard House and wants nothing else in life...except love.


Yaz does her best to cover it up, but she is hopelessly in love with Seth.  Although her sees her as nothing more than a cousin and friend, her feelings run deeply for him and its often plain to see to everyone except Seth Blanchard.


Not being a blood related Blanchard, Yasmine is not a witch.  This is sometimes isolating for her when her entire family has abilities she does not possess.  Yet Yaz has a different kind of power.  Her light spirit and loving soul makes her the heart of the Blanchard family.

The first book began twenty years ago when I wrote it as a stand alone book.  I never fully finished it and set it aside as life got in the way and my job and family took precedence.  But I never fully let go of my dream to finish the story and get published. Then in 2018 after selling my business and my son being in elementary school I began wondering what I was going to do now.  That was when I pulled out my dusty writing from the file cabinet I hadn't opened in a decade and reread my Blanchard story.  I decided to finish it...only it wasn't finished with me. A Little Blanchard Backstory...

When the first book THE BLANCHARD WITCHES OF DAIHMLER COUNTY begins, the Blanchard family is already long established in the town of Daihmler. They've been here for generations, living in the white three story farmhouse with the wrap around porch and four story tower. Olympia Blanchard is in her seventies and though beloved by her daughters and grandchildren for being the sage old giver of wisdom--Olympia has lived quite a life her offspring are not completely aware of. In her youth, she and her sister Pastoria--and their lifelong friend Zelda, helped many people and saved many lives (and possibly the world) a time or two. Olympia has been married three times by the time readers meet her in Book One. Her first husband, John Windham died shortly after the birth of their third child. THE BLANCHARD WITCHES Won an Award!

 The first book in the series THE BLANCHARD WITCHES OF DAIHMLER COUNTY won the Distinguished Favorite Award for Supernatural Thriller!  I am very excited.  I came home sick from a family trip to Disney World where I caught a bug on the last day.  It was late the next afternoon when I found out the news.  I think the thrill knocked the sickness out of me!
